The History

When the German soldiers arrived in Gebbia, they set on fire the whole village. Eight men were taken prisoners and carried through the woods of Valibona to the farm called Podere Valle, near the village of San Pancrazio, and there they were shot and thrown into a hut, then set on fire. In Gebbia had been captured also Helga and Giovanni Cau, who were killed on July 2 in Monte San Savino.
Although women and children were not touched nor were burned houses, the Germans killed, in addition to the eight prisoners, all the animals.
