The History

At around 7.00 am at a hundred yards south of Civitella’s Porta Senese, in the area near the “Maestà Tonda”, were killed three Italian civilians who were going to Mass for the celebration of St. Pietro and Paolo. They were Attilio D’Alessio, Adelmo Pasqui, killed with a shot to the head and Ines Boschi, massacred in the same way. Just from the Maestà the German soldiers tried to hit the fugitives inside the walls of Civitella, while from the Madonna were advancing numerous soldiers and military vehicles.
